Game Recap

BOBCATS BOUNCE BULLDOGS IN SEASON OPENER
Before the ribbon could even be cut at the brand new beautiful Three Rivers High School Baseball/Softball complex the Bobcats spoiled the grand opening with a hot start thanks to Westin Keese’s leadoff triple. Unfortunately a fielder’s choice left Keese thrown out at home the very next pitch, but the Bobcats stayed determined with RBI’s by Wyatt Blackwell and John Hager in the inning. Along with a Bulldog passed ball, Hager scored to put the Bobcats up 3-0 in the first. They would never look back.

Sophomore lefty W. Keese started off the game on the bump for the Cats and with great defensive plays by Marcus Sarate, Dustin Toelken, Cole Terry, Stephen Moreno, Justin Hernandez, and Joe Torres, He was able to keep the Dogs at bay for all 3 of his innings on the hill conceding only (1) earned run and recorded (3) K’s.

The Bobcats and Bulldogs would trade runs in the 2nd frame and Hager would add two more RBI’s to his stellar night at the plate in the 4th frame. Two pitches into the 4th Head coach Adolfo Dominguez handed the ball over to Junior Lefty Sarate and he would continue the strong pitching performance for the young S-T pitching staff. Sarate held the dogs to (3) hits and (2) earned runs, both coming in the 5th, as well as posting (8) strikeouts for the game.
The Cats kept the bats going and took advantage of walks and errors late in the game adding (1) run in the 5th, (2) in the 6th, and with a single by Keese, double and RBI by Blackwell, and a huge (2) RBI double in the gap by Hager, the Cats added (4) more runs in the 7th in route to a 13-3 victory on a chilly Tuesday night. Sarate (1-0) was awarded the Win at pitcher and top performers at the plate were: Keese 4-5 (2) Triples (3) Runs scored- Hager 3-4 (1) Triple (5) RBI’s-Blackwell – 2-4 (3) RBI’s- Torres 2-4 (1) RBI- Sarate 1-4 (1) RBI- Ryan Garcia (3) Runs Scored.
